There she goes again! Heather Dilly pulled in more hardware, winning Best Actress at the 2009 New York City  Downtown  Short Film Festival. As those of you who attended know, we had a great time at the festival hosted at the beautiful Duo Arts Theater. Those of you who didn’t, keep tabs on the website for more info on where to see our film next!

Finally a chance to see “Sovereignty” right here in NYC!

We are proud to announce that we will be playing at the NYC Downtown Short Film Festival on Thursday, April 30th at 8pm at the beautiful Duo Theater on 64 E. 4th St. Normally I wouldn’t encourage buying tickets in advance, but the preview screening of our film sold out last month, so I can only imagine that the fesival itself will fill up very quickly. This is a beautiful place to see a movie and a hidden gem of downtown New York City, so please purchace tickets for $10 in advance on Smartix here. Many of the awards for this festival are given out on audience vote, so I’d love to have some friendly faces at our screening on Thursday the 30th.

We hope to see you on the home leg of our international, year-long, award-winning festival tour later this month!

“Sovereignty” keeps on churinin’ along as head to the Peace on Earth Film Festival this Sunday 8/31 at 6pm in beautiful Chicago, IL. Click here for directions.

We are so proud and excited to announce that Heather Dilly will be named Best Actress at the 2008 Long Island International Film Expo for her work in “Sovereignty”! We are really rollin’ now! The prestigious Rhode Island International Film Festival is coming up in August and “Sovereignty” will be there! The RIIFF is one of the few festivals in the country to which the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences gives automatic Oscar eligibility to the winners. So come see us Thursday 7/4 in Long Island or road trip with us in early August to Rhode Island!

We are proud to announce that “Sovereignty” will be continuing its coast-to-coast run at the Long Island International Film Expo on July 10 at 9:30 pm! We are excited to announce that “Sovereignty” will be making its New York area debut at the Hoboken International Film Festival on May 28th at 8:30pm at Pier A in scenic Hoboken, New Jersey! The festival was recently called “in the world’s top 10″ and “the nations hottest true film festival.”

Pulitzer Prize nominated author Rolin Jones, producer and writer of Showtime’s Emmy and Golden Globe winning series, “Weeds” uncoils a hilarious and caustic allegory of the lengths to which people will go to  ignore the horrors in the world around them.

Mrs. Elsbeth’s life is the picture of perfection.  Perfect neighborhood.  Perfect house.  Perfect garden. Perfect husband.  But all that is about to change.  Strange new neighbors and cryptic postcards reading “Help Us” are beginning to crack the façade of her forced perfection. How long will she be able to continue to say, “These things beyond the garden, they happen so far away” in the face of her increasingly perverse best friend, conspicuously absent husband and growing insistence from the outside world to “Help Us.”

“Sovereingty” is proud to have been so warmly received at the 2008 Cinequest Film Festival. We had a great week  of rubbing elbows with the likes of Michael Keaton, the beautiful Olivia Hussey, John Ratzenberger (yeah, Cliff from ‘Cheers’!), Danny Glover and many more. Lots of folks counted “Sovereignty” as their favorite film of the festival and  Neil Baker of Fest 21.com singled “Sovereignty” out saying “…most noticeably Sovereignty, a brilliant and damning portrayal of our reluctance to help our world neighbors by director Jonathan Sale.”

Thanks to a great effort from cast member John Dominici and his mother Dawn, “Sovereignty” played to a large and enthusiastic crowd at this year’s Gasparilla Film Festival. With star appearances by the likes of Shane West and “Hairspray’s” Brittany Snow (picture left with “Sovereignty” star John Dominici),  the festival and “Sovereignty” both had a fantastic weekend. Thanks to all of you who turned out in support!
